The Emir gave the commendation when the leadership of the association paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Zaria.
The visit was part of activities for the 2026 Zonal Women Committee Conference of the union, held at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Ambassador Bamalli urged the union to sustain its good initiatives for posterity to emulate, also assured the union of his continued support
Speaking during the visit, the National Vice President of SSANU, North West Zone, Comrade Sabo Balarabe Wudil, said the visit is in line with the tradition of the union to pay homage to leaders and traditional institutions where it conducts its activities.
Comrade Wudil said the visit was also an opportunity to appreciate the Emir of Zazzau for the transformation and development recorded in Zazzau Emirate under his leadership.
On her part, the Zonal Women Coordinator of SSANU, North West Zone, Comrade Hauwa Abdullahi Danbatta, said the delegation was at the palace to seek the royal blessings and prayers of the Emir for the success of their conference.
Comrade Danbatta appealed to the Emir to use his revered position and influence to advocate and support efforts aimed at ensuring equity and inclusion of women in leadership, particularly in Nigerian universities.
She explained that women are often relegated to the background due to cultural barriers and other challenges.
According to her, giving women opportunities in leadership will enable them to showcase their talents, expertise and contribute immensely to the development of the university system and the nation at large.
