The convened by Alhassan Ishaq Alhassan said was the third in a series of activities aimed at assessing, documenting and creating public awareness about development interventions facilitated by the member representing Zaria Federal Constituency and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen.
Speaking at the engagement, Alhassan said the initiative was designed to ensure that residents were adequately informed about development projects being implemented in their communities and across the constituency.
He explained that the first phase brought together youth groups, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to assess constituency projects and evaluate their impact on the people.
Alhassan said beneficiaries and other stakeholders were subsequently engaged in a public discussion to hear their views and identify ways of improving the sustainability and effectiveness of the projects.
He added that the exercise eventually culminated in a public endorsement of the Speaker, noting that the participation of people from different political backgrounds demonstrated broad-based support for the development initiatives.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Zaria Local Government Area, Engr. Jamilu Ahmad Muhammad, expressed satisfaction with the response of community leaders to the engagement.
He commended the leaders for their commitment to participating in initiatives aimed at promoting development and improving the welfare of residents across the local government area.
The chairman also highlighted some of the major development projects facilitated by Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen in the Zaria Federal Constituency, saying they had contributed to addressing key socio-economic needs of the people.
Some of the traditional and community leaders who attended the meeting commended the projects facilitated by the Speaker in their respective communities.
They said the interventions had contributed to the socio-economic development of their areas and improved the wellbeing of residents.
The leaders expressed appreciation for Abbas Tajudeen’s efforts in attracting development projects to the constituency and pledged their continued support for his leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
