The residents described the project as a major development that would improve transportation, boost socio-economic activities and facilitate the movement of agricultural produce to markets.
Our correspondent, who visited some of the agrarian communities along the road, reports that residents expressed optimism over the impact of the project on their livelihoods.
The Head of Bunsura in Pala District, Malam Salisu Shuaibu, described the construction as an avenue for boosting socio-economic development and easing the transportation of goods to nearby markets.
Malam Salisu Shuaibu said residents had faced numerous challenges before the construction of the road, particularly during the rainy season when movement became difficult.
Another resident, Malam Yakubu Idris, expressed happiness over the construction of the road linking Anchau, Falla, Gadas, Saya-Saya and Ikara.
A resident of neighbouring Tudun Wada in Dankade, Kano State, Malam Awalu Salisu, said the project had significantly reduced their travelling time.
He explained that a journey which previously took about one hour could now be completed in approximately fifteen minutes.
Malam Awalu Salisu congratulated the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Uba Sani, for executing the project, saying it had taken residents out of the difficult conditions associated with the former state of the road.
Another resident of Tudun Wada, Dankade, Malam Ibrahim Sa’ad, said he had spent more than ten years using the road without witnessing its reconstruction.
He described the project as a legacy that would benefit communities in Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State and neighbouring communities in Kano State.
The 57-kilometre road links seven agrarian communities and is being constructed through a partnership between the Kaduna State Government and the World Bank under the Kaduna State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, KDRAMP.
The project is being implemented under the leadership of Engineer Zubairu Abubakar.
