Sulaiman made the pledge on Thursday in Zaria shortly after he was declared winner of the 2026 chapter election by the ASUP Electoral Committee.
In his acceptance speech, the new chairman thanked members for the confidence reposed in him.
“I want to sincerely thank all members of ASUP, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria Chapter, for this mandate. This victory is not mine alone, it belongs to all of us,” he said.
He promise to run an inclusive administration that will prioritize the welfare of our members, protect our rights, and work closely with the Polytechnic management for the progress of the institution.
He also commended the Electoral Committee for what he described as a free, fair and credible process.
According to the result sheet signed by the Electoral Committee, the election was conducted across three voting centers: UPE 001, ANNEX 002 and SAMARU 003, with 353 members accredited.
Sulaiman polled all 353 votes to emerge unopposed as Chairman.
For the office of Vice Chairman, Aliyu Magaji Abdullahi won with 192 votes to defeat three other contestants. Useni Sambo scored 62 votes, Engr. Zaiyan Nuhu 55 votes, while Salihu Abdullahi got 32 votes.
Seven other executive positions were also returned unopposed. They are:
1. General Secretary - Abubakar Sadiq Yusuf - 353 votes
2. Assistant General Secretary- Emmanuel Mari - 353 votes
3. Treasurer- Zakari Usman - 353 votes
4. Financial Secretary- Nasiru Shehu - 353 votes
5. Publicity Secretary- Haruna Ahmadu (TPL) - 353 votes
6. Welfare Secretary - Aliyu Sulaiman Kusfa - 353 votes
7. Internal Auditor- Ismail Muhammad Kidandan - 353 votes
The Committee said only the Vice Chairmanship seat was contested, while the rest had single candidates.
