TINUBU’S CAMPAIGN DIRECTOR, ABDULAZIZ YARI, SEEKS ZAZZAU EMIR’S PRAYERS AHEAD OF 2027 GENERAL ELECTION

The Director of Campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has led a delegation of prominent political leaders to the palace of the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Mallam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, to seek prayers and blessings ahead of the 2027 general election.

Senator Abdulaziz Yari told the Emir that the delegation, which comprised former governors and other prominent personalities, was at the palace to seek royal prayers and blessings for the success of their political mission. He described traditional institutions as important custodians of history, culture and traditional values, while emphasising their role in promoting unity among Nigerians.

The Director of Campaign also called on traditional rulers to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration through prayers and public enlightenment to promote peace, unity and national development. He highlighted some of the administration’s ongoing projects and programmes, including the Abuja-Kano-Maiduguri road construction, student empowerment initiatives, the railway project linking Nigeria to Maradi, and efforts to revive industries for youth employment.

In his response, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Mallam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, expressed delight at receiving Senator Yari and members of his delegation at the palace. He acknowledged the points raised by the campaign director and noted that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had recorded achievements in various sectors, while identifying insecurity as one of the major challenges facing the country. The Emir observed that the government was making efforts to address insurgency and other security threats.

Ambassador Bamalli further urged political leaders and public office holders to justify the confidence reposed in them by discharging their responsibilities with fairness and justice, which he described as essential foundations for peaceful coexistence. He also appealed to citizens, particularly youths, to maintain peace before, during and after the 2027 general election, and encouraged eligible voters to exercise their civic responsibility peacefully.

The delegation included former Kano State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former Katsina State governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shehu Shema, former Zamfara State Governor Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura, and other dignitaries. The Emir offered prayers for the success of the delegation’s tour and the peace, unity and progress of the country. By Mikail Ibrahim Fagachi
