MADA DISTRIBUTES WORKING MATERIALS TO TEN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATIONS IN MAIGANA DISTRICT SOBA LOCAL GOVERNMENT KADUNA STATE By MIKAIL IBRAHIM FAGACHI

The Maigana Development Association, MADA, has distributed working materials to ten Community Development Associations across the five wards of Maigana District in Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as part of efforts to promote grassroots development.

Speaking during the distribution ceremony held at the Dahiru Maigana Secretariat of Soba Local Government, the Chairman of MADA, Alhaji Sirajo Salihu Awai, said the initiative was aimed at supporting the various Community Development Associations in their efforts to execute development projects in their respective communities.

Alhaji Sirajo Salihu Awai explained that the provision of working materials was part of MADA’s continuous commitment to strengthening community development and enabling the associations to do more. He noted that although the government was making efforts to meet the needs of the people, it could not provide for every community's needs.

The MADA Chairman therefore urged residents to sustain the spirit of self-help and community participation rather than depending solely on government projects. He also clarified that MADA was a non-partisan organisation committed to supporting the people, as well as creating awareness and enlightening them on government policies and programmes.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Soba Local Government, represented by his Vice Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Baban Baba, expressed delight over MADA’s initiative. He assured the association of the local government’s readiness to collaborate with it on development projects aimed at improving the lives of the people.
Also speaking, the Village Head of Maigana, Alhaji Saidu Dahiru Maigana, commended the association for its contributions to community development. He observed that MADA’s activities would support traditional rulers in carrying out their responsibilities more effectively and addressing the needs of their communities.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our reporter expressed happiness over the gesture and assured MADA of their continued support for its activities, policies and programmes. They described the distribution as a welcome development that would strengthen community initiatives and promote sustainable development across Maigana District.
