The Vice Chancellor of , Professor Adamu Ahmed, has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining and protecting the image of the institution as one of the foremost universities on the African continent. He made this known during an exclusive interview with Nagarta Radio Kaduna Correspondent in Zaria.
Professor Adamu Ahmed emphasized that the university remains a center of excellence that has continued to distinguish itself in academics, research, and community service. He noted that over the years, the institution has built a solid reputation both nationally and internationally.
The Vice Chancellor drew the attention of Nigerians and the global community to the fact that ABU has produced highly ranked personalities who have occupied strategic positions in both the public and private sectors. According to him, this achievement stands as a testimony to the quality and standard of education offered by the university.
He further stressed that ABU is a united institution that cannot be divided along religious, tribal, or political lines. Professor Adamu Ahmed maintained that the university’s strength lies in its diversity and unity, which have continued to foster peaceful coexistence among students and staff from different backgrounds.
The Vice Chancellor urged Nigerians to recognize the institution’s legacy and contribute immensely towards sustaining its vision, in line with the dreams of the late , the Sardauna of Sokoto, and other notable founding fathers.
Professor Adamu Ahmed also commended the ongoing drainage project within the university facilitated by the Kaduna State Governor, Senator . He appreciated other proposed projects currently in the pipeline through partnerships with development partners both within and outside Nigeria, assuring that the university will continue to collaborate with meaningful partners to upgrade and maintain its standard.
While expressing gratitude, the Vice Chancellor thanked stakeholders, members of management, staff, students, and supporters of the institution for their continuous and fruitful support to his administration, pledging to remain focused on policies that will further uplift the university’s status.
