Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Uba Sani said the projects will improve connectivity, expand economic opportunities, enhance transportation, and improve the quality of life of residents.
He disclosed that his administration has initiated over 150 road projects covering 1,355 kilometres statewide, adding that Mothercat Nigeria Limited and CGC Nigeria Limited will execute the roads.
Governor Uba Sani said the projects would reduce traffic congestion, create jobs, and boost commercial activities.
Also speaking, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, commended Governor Uba Sani for his commitment to developing Zaria through infrastructure, education, and empowerment programmes.
Dr. Abbas said the eleven road projects demonstrate the Governor's love for Zaria and will complement ongoing federal, state, and local government development efforts.
In a remark, Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, praised Governor Uba Sani appealed to the Governor to approve the construction of the road linking the Emir's Palace Gate to Ban Zazzau to support further development.
Earlier, KADRA Managing Director, Engr. Abdullahi Baba Ahmed, said the roads will include durable drainage systems, hydraulic structures, and solar-powered street lights to enhance safety and security.
According to him, the projects demonstrate government's determination to quality infrastructure and sustainable development.
