ZARIA – Member representing Zaria City Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Mahmud Lawal Isma’ila, has announced that Governor Uba Sani has approved additional road projects for communities within Zaria Local Government Area as part of efforts to expand infrastructure and improve the welfare of residents.

The lawmaker disclosed that the governor approved the consideration of two additional roads in addition to the two road projects earlier approved for the area.

According to him, the proposed projects were identified after consultations with key stakeholders, including the member representing Zaria Kewaye Constituency, Hon. Isa Haruna Ihamo; the Director-General of the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority, Prof. Usman Abubakar Zaria; Chairman of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, Hon. Muhammad Usman Mai Elsa; Shehu Muhammad Albarka (Tension); and Hon. Danlami Dan Premier.

He explained that the stakeholders identified three strategic roads requiring urgent government intervention due to their importance to residents and economic activities in the affected communities.

The roads include Aba Road and Turunku Road with the Late M. Mamuda Spur Road in Tudun Wada, as well as Sheikh Umar Mu’azu Street and Idris Majeh Street in Fillin Mallawa, Gyallesu Ward. Others are the road linking Yeskwake, Zakaran Fulani and Zakaran Mahauta to Fanga in Wucicciri Ward, and the road connecting Farin Gida to Rafin Magaji in Kufena Ward.

Mahmud said officials of the Kaduna Roads Agency (KADRA) had already visited the identified locations to conduct technical assessments, surveys and reconstruction analyses ahead of the execution of the projects.

He expressed optimism that the roads would be captured in the next phase of road construction projects by the state government.

The lawmaker also recalled that Governor Uba Sani had earlier approved the construction of the road linking Rimin Tsiwa through Fada and Kaura to Kofar Gayan, as well as the road from Babban Dodo through Durumi to Kofar Kuyambana.

He commended the governor for what he described as his commitment to infrastructural development and responsiveness to the needs of the people of Zaria.

Mahmud noted that the interventions would improve transportation, boost economic activities and enhance the living conditions of residents across the benefiting communities.

He further assured constituents of his continued commitment to supporting policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people and accelerating development across Kaduna State.
