The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting the successful hosting of the 3rd National Education, Trade, Innovation and Investment Summit (NATIIS) 2026.Prof. Bunkure gave the assurance while receiving a delegation from the Zazzau Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ZAZCCIMA), led by the Chairman of the Summit’s Main Organising Committee, Malam Yahaya Garba (Garkuwan Madakin Zazzau), who briefed him on preparations for the event.
The summit, jointly organised by ZAZCCIMA and the Federal University of Education, Zaria, is scheduled to hold between October 30 and November 8, 2026.
Speaking during the briefing, Malam Yahaya Garba disclosed that the organising committee had made significant progress towards ensuring a successful summit, adding that consultations and partnership engagements had already commenced with key organisations and stakeholders across the country.
According to him, institutions already contacted include the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), National Institute for Leather Science and Technology (NILEST), National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), Kaduna State Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), among others.
Garba explained that the summit would feature several activities aimed at promoting education, entrepreneurship, innovation and investment opportunities.
He listed some of the major events lined up for the summit to include the First Small and Medium Enterprises Clinic and Display, First National Exhibition on Edible Essential and Natural Oils, First National Transportation and Auto Parts Exhibition, Third National Farm Produce and Food Exhibition, as well as a Taxpayer Education Day.
He added that an exhibition of Hausa material culture would also form part of the programme in order to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Northern Nigeria.
The committee chairman expressed optimism that the summit would attract participants from across Nigeria and beyond, providing a platform for networking, business promotion, investment opportunities and knowledge exchange.
As a key partner in the event, the Federal University of Education, Zaria, is expected to provide venues for conferences, seminars, exhibitions and other summit activities. The university will also support stakeholder mobilisation, public sensitisation and security arrangements.
Garba further noted that the institution’s Directorate of Entrepreneurship Development would actively participate by exhibiting students’ innovations and products while exploring opportunities for mentorship, partnerships and investment support.
Responding, Prof. Bunkure commended ZAZCCIMA for its commitment to advancing education, entrepreneurship and economic development through strategic collaboration.
He described the summit as a timely initiative that aligns with the university’s vision of promoting practical learning, innovation and skills development among students.
The Vice-Chancellor assured the organisers of the university’s full support and cooperation, noting that the summit would create valuable opportunities for students, researchers, entrepreneurs and investors to interact, exchange ideas and build partnerships capable of driving sustainable development.
He expressed confidence that the collaboration between the university and ZAZCCIMA would contribute significantly to the success of the event and its broader objectives of promoting education, trade, innovation and investment in Nigeria
