Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, Member representing Sabon gari federal constituency has flagged up the distribution of food items as part of his 2026 Ramadan Support Initiative.

The initiative worth millions of naira was aimed at supporting people during the holy month of Ramadan.

The items comprises of Bags of rice, millet, sugar, Milk, Spaghetti were distributed to people from different strata of life.

Flagging up the exercise at his resident in GRA, Zaria, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi said the effort was aimed at cushioning the hardship faced by people.

"It was also intended to bring succour and relief to Muslim brothers and sisters during the Ramadan fasting period.

"This food items might not go round, but I believe it will touch the lives of some who are in dire need of this support.

"I feel as a member representing the area, I have friends and political allies, religious and opinion leaders, women and youth groups who deserves some level of support from me, hence the gesture to give them a sense of belonging." He said.

The legislator however stressed that only Allah, the almighty can provide for everybody, urging for restraint to those who could not receive the support.

He explained that the exercise was not "once and for all" as it will continue throughout the holy month once the opportunity present itself.

Ango Abdullahi noted that several packages and interventions will continue to unfold as it has been done since assumption of duty, therefore the need for others not to loose hope.

"I want to use this medium to appeal to my other friends and political allies to note that our struggle was not because of a bag of rice, sugar or millet, it hinges on solidarity, love and development of our constituency.

"I therefore hope that nobody will feel offended for not being included in this support initiative as many programmes and interventions will continue to flourish with your support and cooperation." Abdullahi reminded.

Also commenting, the Chairman distribution committee of the Ramadan support initiative, Dr. Lawal Hamisu expressed delight over the kind gesture.

While appreciating the initiative by the legislator, Dr. Lawal pledged to ensure fair distribution of the commodity to the people concern.

He urged beneficiaries to avoid selling out the items and endeavour to also give to their friends and neighbours what they received from the legislator.

"By so doing, many lives will be touched and lots of people will benefit." He stated.
