The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote education, family stability and community development across the Emirate.

He stated this at the official flag-off ceremony on Sensitization of Girl-Children on Home Management and Marital Affairs, organised by Alqibla Charity Foundation in collaboration with the Kaduna State Reaching Out-of-School Children Project, held in Bomo, Sabon Gari, Zaria.

Represented by the District Head of Basawa and Barden Kerarriyar Zazzau, Architect Haruna Abubakar Bamalli, the Emir said the programme seeks to enlighten communities on the importance of girl-child education, proper domestic management and strengthening marital relationships.

He urged parents to prioritise the schooling of their children to enable them compete favourably and contribute meaningfully to society.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of Al-Kalam Charity Foundation, Dan Iyan Zazzau, Alhaji Abdulrahman Nuhu Bayero, said the Foundation has remained committed to supporting efforts aimed at reducing the high number of out-of-school children in the state.

He stressed that returning children to school will equip them with relevant skills and prevent them from drifting into criminal activities.

Also speaking, the Project Coordinator of the Out-of-School Children Programme in Kaduna State, Alhaji Hassan Abdul, said the initiative also seeks to prepare the girl-child with essential home management and marital skills.

He observed that several cases of marital breakdown stem from inadequate guidance and lack of proper orientation.

Hassan Abdul disclosed that the sensitisation exercise will be extended to all eleven local government areas under the Zazzau Emirate Council, and appealed for strong community support to enhance the programme’s impact.

Earlier, the Director of Alqibla Charity Foundation, Hajiya Aisha Jibrin Goma, said the Foundation is expanding its empowerment programmes to include practical training in local shoemaking, handbag design and other income-generating crafts.

She explained that the 30-day programme aims to strengthen the domestic, economic and social capacities of participants, enhance family stability and promote sustainable livelihoods across communities in the Emirate.

The sensitisation programme was attended by village heads, ward heads, women groups and community leaders from Sabon Gari Local Government Area.
