The Emir of Katsinan Gusau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello, paid a historic visit to Nuri-Tilawah International School, Zaria, a Qur’anic memorisation and Islamic studies centre, where he was received by the school management, staff and students.
The visit, which took place on Sunday, was described as a memorable moment in the history of the school, according to its Director, Sheikh Nuraddin Umar Tahir.
Speaking during the reception, Sheikh Nuraddin expressed delight over the monarch’s visit, saying the school was not surprised because the Emir hails from a lineage known for knowledge, piety and service to Islam in Nigeria.
He extended condolences to the Emir over the death of his late father, the former Emir of Katsinan Gusau, and congratulated him on ascending the throne as the 16th Emir of Katsinan Gusau.
The director also appreciated the support of eminent personalities such as the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, former Zamfara State governor, Alhaji Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura, and other stakeholders who have contributed to the growth of the school.
He offered prayers for peace, stability and development in Zamfara and Sokoto States, urging Muslims to continue to prioritise Qur’anic learning and moral upbringing.
In his remarks, Emir Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello thanked the school for the warm reception and commended its commitment to Qur’anic memorisation and Islamic education.
He emphasised the role of the Qur’an in building discipline, inner peace and strong character, and pledged continued collaboration between the Katsina-Gusau Emirate and the school.
> “We will continue to support institutions like Nuri-Tilawah because this work is for the progress of the Ummah and the future of our children,” the Emir said.
