TURAWA, DA’A AND DINYA COMMUNITIES APPLAUD GOVERNOR UBA SANI OVER ONGOING 13-KILOMETRE ROAD PROJECT

The communities of Turawa, Da’a, Dinya and neighbouring towns in Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State have expressed appreciation to Governor Malam Uba Sani for revisiting the 13-kilometre Turawa–Da’a–Kurungufi–Dinya road project, which is currently being handled by Stonegate Construction Company.

The Chairman of Turawa Development Association, Alhaji Abdullahi Tela Turawa, made this known during a press briefing with journalists, where he commended the governor for responding to the appeals made by the communities through the association. He recalled that the project was awarded about three years ago but experienced delays in execution.

Alhaji Tela described the area as an important agricultural and commercial hub, noting that the completion of the road would improve transportation, promote farming and business activities, and contribute to economic development in Soba Local Government Area and Kaduna State at large.
In their separate remarks, the Village Heads of Turawa, Alhaji Dahiru Umar, Da’a and Dinya expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for considering their request and ensuring that work on the road has resumed and progressed to an advanced stage. They also reaffirmed the communities’ commitment to supporting the policies and programmes of the Kaduna State Government.

Some residents, drivers and passengers who spoke during the briefing also expressed happiness over the ongoing construction, describing the road as vital to their daily activities. They expressed optimism that its completion would ease transportation difficulties, improve access to neighbouring communities and facilitate the movement of agricultural produce and other goods.

Speaking on behalf of the contractor, Stonegate Construction Company, Engineer Wakili Murtala said the company’s technical team was fully on site to ensure the successful completion of the project. He disclosed that the state governor had given the company a period of two to three weeks to complete the work, while appreciating the cordial relationship between the construction team and the host communities.
The Turawa Development Association and the benefiting communities have therefore commended Governor Uba Sani for responding to their longstanding appeal, expressing hope that the completion of the road would improve rural connectivity and strengthen economic activities in the area. The communities also called for continued cooperation with the contractor to ensure the timely completion of the project.By. Mikail Ibrahim Fagachi
