SPEAKER ABBAS TAJUDEEN ANNOUNCES 80 PROJECTS ACROSS KADUNA NORTH

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Right Honourable Abbas Tajudeen, says 80 projects have been initiated across the seven local government areas of Kaduna North Senatorial District, with plans to attract more development projects before the end of the year.

He disclosed this while speaking at the inauguration of development projects in Kudan Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Speaker explained that more than 300 projects had been initiated or secured for Kaduna State through the Federal Government, with 80 specifically earmarked for Kaduna North Senatorial District.

He said the projects in Kudan included a block of ten classrooms with offices and toilets, a study centre of the National Open University of Nigeria, a library, a community hall, and the Eastern Bypass Road.

According to him, the projects are designed to improve access to education, reduce transportation difficulties, and create economic opportunities for residents.

He explained that the ten-classroom block would provide a better learning environment for pupils and teachers, while the offices would support effective school administration and the toilets would promote hygiene and protect students' dignity.

The Speaker said the National Open University study centre would enable workers, farmers, traders, parents, and other residents to pursue higher education without leaving their communities or abandoning their livelihoods.

He added that the library would promote reading and research, while the community hall, designed to accommodate at least 700 people, would provide space for educational programmes, seminars, professional training, and community activities.

On the Eastern Bypass Road, Abbas Tajudeen said the project would help reduce traffic congestion in Hunkuyi town, improve road safety, and facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce and other goods to markets.

He noted that improved road infrastructure would reduce transportation costs, attract businesses, and encourage the development of commercial activities along the corridor.

The Speaker said the projects aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's development agenda, particularly in education, infrastructure, and human capital development.

He commended Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for prioritising inclusive development and extending government interventions to rural communities.

Abbas Tajudeen called on contractors to maintain high construction standards and complete the projects within the stipulated time, warning that poor workmanship and unnecessary delays would not be tolerated.

He also urged traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents to monitor the projects, report defects promptly, and protect the facilities against vandalism.

The Speaker encouraged young people to take advantage of the educational opportunities, while urging farmers and traders to maximise the benefits of improved transportation by investing in agricultural processing, packaging, and storage facilities.

He expressed confidence that the projects would improve educational opportunities, strengthen commercial activities, and contribute to the socioeconomic development of Kudan and neighbouring communities.
