KADRAAMP INSPECTS ONGOING RURAL ACCESS ROADS PROJECT IN SOUTHERN KADUNA.

Kaduna State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, KADRAAMP, has inspected some ongoing rural road projects in the southern part of Kaduna State as part of efforts to provide accessible roads to rural communities across the state.

The inspection tour, led by the Director-General of KADRAAMP, Engineer Zubairu Abubakar, is in line with the agenda of the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Uba Sani, to improve rural infrastructure and provide better access roads for farming communities.

Shortly after rounding off the inspection of various ongoing road projects across three Local Government Areas in Southern Kaduna, including Jaba, Kaura and Zangon Kataf, the Director-General of KADRAAMP, Engineer Zubairu Abubakar, expressed satisfaction with the progress and manner in which the contractors are handling the projects.

Engineer Zubairu Abubakar said the intention of Governor Uba Sani's administration is to ensure that rural communities which had previously been left behind due to poor road infrastructure are provided with good and accessible roads under the programme.

He explained that the rural road projects are not limited to Southern Kaduna, but are being implemented across all the twenty-three Local Government Areas of the state.

The Director-General noted that upon completion of the projects, rural communities would find it easier to transport their agricultural produce to markets, while the roads would also improve other social and economic activities within the communities.

Among the projects inspected are the 10-kilometre Fadama–Kororo–Katura road, the 5-kilometre Tachira–Manyi–Kwoi road, 5.6-kilometre Aduwan and other connecting communities, the 2.6-kilometre Makabun–Anya–Legun road, as well as other road sections measuring 6.2 kilometres and 3 kilometres from Tachira to Kadarko.

Engineer Zubairu Abubakar urged residents of the benefiting communities to cooperate with the contractors and serve as ambassadors of government by monitoring the quality of the projects and reporting any concerns to the appropriate authorities.

He also assured the contractors of KADRAAMP's continued support in addressing challenges that may arise at project sites to ensure successful implementation.

Responding to questions from journalists on behalf of the contractors, Engineer Ubon Essen expressed appreciation for the inspection visit by the KADRAAMP Director-General.

He highlighted some of the challenges being encountered at the project sites, but assured that the contractors remain committed to meeting their contractual obligations and completing the projects within the stipulated time.

In separate remarks, some members of the benefiting communities expressed appreciation to the Kaduna State Government, particularly Governor Malam Uba Sani, for initiating the rural access road projects.

They explained that most residents of the areas are farmers who previously experienced serious difficulties transporting their farm produce to markets because of the poor condition of the roads.

According to them, the ongoing intervention has already started reducing the hardship faced by farmers and other residents, while completion of the projects would further improve transportation, agricultural activities and the general socio-economic wellbeing of the communities.
