Zazzau Emirate Council has directed for the closure of some major roads to pave way for smooth conduct of Sallah durbar.
The directive conveyed by Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, Media and Publicity Officer of the emirate and issued to newsmen in Zaria said the order is the first, second and third day of Sallah celebration.
According to the statement, the emirate directed that "following the reconstruction work in Kofar doka, on the first day of Eid El fitr Sallah, the road leading to Mallam Musa Eid praying ground from Banzazzau, Anguwar kaya and Dakace will be closed from morning hours to allow for Eid prayer.
"Similarly, after the prayers, all roads leading to Kofar doka will remain closed, while vehicles and motorcycles will not be allowed to fly the road from Kofar doka, Alhuda Huda college, lemu, Rimin tsiwa, Babban dodo roads to Emir's palace for smooth ride of horses." It said.
The statement further stated that, on day two of the sallah celebration, the Hawan Bariki activity will take place as usual.
According to the statement, after the usual homage at the Muhammad Aminu Polo club on the Governor of kaduna state, Sen. Uba Sani, horse riders will match back to the Emir's palace through the normal route.
It therefore instructed that roads to be close for that purpose will include Queen Elizabeth to Police Area command, PZ to Agoro junction, Tudun wada to Kofar doka and lemu to Babban dodo to Emir's palace.
The emirate also directs all road side traders along these route to vacate their place from 8am as stringent measures await any defaulter.
The road closure directive for the third day known as Hawan Daushe starts from 2pm and will affect vehicular movement from the Emir's palace to Albarkawa, Kadarkon Sarki, Kaura, Anguwar Bishir, Kofar gayan, to Azaran Dabuwa.
Other roads to be close were Kofar gidan Bellon Gima, City Market back to Kanfage, Babban dodo and Emir's palace.
Vehicles owners were therefore advised to use alternative roads to engage in their day to day activities throughout the festive period.
The statement however urged spectators to adhere to remain by the road side to avoid unnecessary crossing to prevent any eventuality.
