The Orphans Committee of the Jama'atul Izalatul Bidi'a Wa Ikamatu Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Zaria Local Government Area has registered over fifteen thousand orphans across the thirteen districts of the area.
Vice Chairman of the Committee, Malam Abubakar Shitu Samaradani, disclosed this during a courtesy visit by members of the committee and some of the orphans to the Emir of Zazzau, Mal. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, at his palace in Zaria.
He explained that about six hundred and fifty-one mosques across the thirteen districts of the local government area are assisting the committee in identifying the orphans.
Mal. Samaradani further revealed that the number of male orphans recorded stands at six thousand seven hundred and thirty-seven, while female orphans are eight thousand four hundred and fifty, bringing the total number of registered orphans to fifteen thousand one hundred and seventy two.
He also commended the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, for his continued support and concern for the welfare of orphans, and called on wealthy individuals and other well meaning members of society to emulate the Emir’s humanitarian gesture.
In his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, commended the leadership of the committee for their dedication and commitment to supporting orphans, urging them to sustain the initiative for the benefit of vulnerable members of society.
