A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon. Bashir Umar, has called on members and supporters of the party to remain committed and continue to give their full support toward strengthening the party ahead of future political activities.

Hon. Bashir made the call while speaking with journalists in Zaria, where he emphasized the need for unity and collective effort among members to ensure the growth and success of the party at all levels.

He also urged members of the public, particularly eligible citizens, to come forward and register as members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noting that expanding the party’s membership base is crucial for building a strong and credible political platform.

Commenting on recent developments involving the detention of former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Hon. Bashir said the situation should be handled with fairness and in accordance with the rule of law.

According to him, democratic institutions must operate within the framework of justice and due process in order to maintain public confidence in the country’s legal and governance systems.

The ADC chieftain also commended the leadership of the party at the local government, state and national levels, describing them as committed to building a stronger opposition platform capable of addressing the challenges facing Nigerians.

He further called on members of the public, especially Muslims observing the holy month of Ramadan, to continue to pray for peace, unity and the success of the African Democratic Congress as it works toward contributing positively to Nigeria’s democratic development.
