The Chief Organizer of the Prof. Abdullah Bin Ali Tammam Holy Qur’an Competition, Sheikh Shu’aibu Salihu Zaria, has described the 3rd edition of the competition as a remarkable success, noting that the event attracted wide attention and strong participation from both the public and security agencies.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the competition (1447AH / 2026), Sheikh Shu’aibu praised the commitment and cooperation of security personnel, saying their presence and active involvement contributed greatly to the peaceful and orderly conduct of the programme. He noted that some security operatives were not only providing protection but also took part as participants and supporters of the Qur’anic event, which, according to him, demonstrated the unifying power of the Holy Qur’an across professions and institutions.

Sheikh Shu’aibu explained that the Qur’anic competition has continued to grow in stature and influence, capturing the attention of scholars, youths, and the wider community. He said the event has become a platform for nurturing young talents in Qur’anic memorization and recitation, while also promoting moral values, discipline, and spiritual consciousness in society.

He used the occasion to call on members of the public, philanthropists, and well-meaning individuals to support the organizers in sustaining and expanding the competition. Sheikh Shu’aibu emphasized that such support was crucial, just as the Sheikh Abdullah Bin Ali Tammam had consistently supported Qur’anic education and Islamic programs, adding that continuing this legacy would ensure that future generations remain firmly rooted in the teachings of the Holy Qur’an.

Earlier, delivering a message on behalf of the Emir of Zazzau, the Wazirin Zazzau, Khadi Inuwa Aminu (rtd), commended the organizers for their dedication and consistency. He described the competition as a noble initiative that strengthens Islamic values, unity, and peaceful coexistence among communities, and conveyed the Emir’s prayers and blessings for the continued success of the programme.

Also speaking at the event, the Zaria Area Commandant of the Nigeria Police, ACP AbdulRahman Idris, praised the organizing committee for their discipline and professionalism. He assured that the Police would continue to support religious and community-based initiatives that promote peace, morality, and harmony, noting that such programmes play a vital role in building a morally upright society.

Goodwill messages were also delivered by representatives of KADVIS, CASTELIA, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigerian Correctional Service, HISBA, and the Nigerian Army, who all commended the organizers for the smooth conduct of the competition. They described the event as timely and impactful, and reaffirmed their agencies’ commitment to supporting initiatives that foster peace, unity, and moral development.

The Prof. Abdullah Bin Ali Tammam Holy Qur’an Competition continues to stand as a beacon of Qur’anic excellence, community unity, and moral renewal, reinforcing the role of faith-based initiatives in strengthening society.
