The National Chairman of Pathway to Purpose Women and Youths Development Initiative, Alhaji Ibrahim Halliru Dangaladima, has said that the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, was honoured in recognition of his outstanding contributions to community development and the promotion of peace within the Zazzau Emirate and beyond.
Alhaji Dangaladima stated this during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the organisation to the Emir’s palace in Zaria, where the group presented an award of recognition to the monarch.
He explained that the Emir was selected for the honour based on his consistent role in fostering unity, dialogue and inclusive leadership among diverse communities, noting that his peacebuilding efforts have continued to strengthen harmony and coexistence across the emirate.
According to him, Pathway to Purpose Women and Youths Development Initiative is a non-governmental organisation committed to empowering communities through education and social development programmes. He listed the organisation’s core objectives to include educational empowerment, political awareness programmes, environmental care, women and youth empowerment, the fight against drug abuse, support for orphans, skills development, sustainable projects, hospital development initiatives, prisoners’ health check-ups, and advocacy against insecurity.
He added that the organisation focuses on supporting vulnerable groups, particularly women and youths, to become self-reliant, while also complementing the efforts of government and traditional institutions in addressing social, economic and security challenges at the grassroots level.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the organisation, Aliyu Akwu, said the visit was aimed at identifying with the Emir and formally appreciating his leadership role in sustaining peace and encouraging development-oriented initiatives within the Zazzau Emirate.
Aliyu Akwu noted that the Emir’s openness to collaboration with civil society organisations has created an enabling environment for community-based development efforts, stressing that such partnerships are critical to achieving long-term societal progress.
In his response, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, expressed appreciation to the organisation for the honour and commended its leadership for their vision, dedication and commitment to community service.
The Emir described the organisation’s programmes as timely and impactful, particularly those focusing on education, youth empowerment, peacebuilding and social welfare. He encouraged the group to sustain its efforts and assured them of the Zazzau Emirate’s support for initiatives that promote unity, moral values and sustainable development.
He further urged other organisations to emulate the initiative by contributing positively to society and working collectively to strengthen peace and development at the grassroots level.
