Residents of Unguwar Aska in Zaria city have honoured a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, , popularly known as Bola Ige, with an award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to youth empowerment, education and community development.
The award was presented during a well-attended community event organised by the , which drew parents, women, youths and children from the area. The occasion featured goodwill messages, prayers and expressions of appreciation for the lawmaker’s developmental efforts in the community.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Mahmud Lawal emphasised the importance of integrity, accountability and collective responsibility in community development. He urged residents to remain committed to values that promote unity, peaceful coexistence and sustainable progress.
The lawmaker also highlighted several developmental initiatives being implemented by the Kaduna State Government under the leadership of , noting that the administration has prioritised education, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and social welfare across the state.
Hon. Lawal commended the Unguwar Aska Development Association for recognising individuals who contribute meaningfully to societal growth, describing the gesture as a motivation for public servants to do more in uplifting their communities.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board and Founder of ELSA Academy, , described Hon. Mahmud Lawal as a dedicated and people-oriented leader who has consistently invested in human capital development.
According to him, the lawmaker has sponsored over 550 individuals to acquire free education through ECAS, supported 300 children with free education at BSCE, funded JAMB registration for 250 candidates, and facilitated opportunities for women to acquire healthcare-related skills.
Mai Elsa urged young people to emulate Hon. Mahmud Lawal’s commitment to education and selfless service, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved through deliberate investment in learning and skills acquisition.
