The meeting, organised by associates of the Speaker and held at the residence of Iya Abdullahi, provided residents with an opportunity to express their concerns, identify challenges and make recommendations towards improving representation and community development.
Residents from Mangoron Babajo, Lemu, Jamawa, Rimin Tsiwa, Madaka Taba and Fadan Sarki attended the meeting, alongside ward heads, traditional title holders and Islamic scholars.
Among them were Durumbun Zazzau, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu Bamalli, Imam of Kofar Gidan Iya Abdullahi, Malam Ridwan Nasir, and Mukaddas of Zazzau, Malam Balarabe Yahaya Dodo.
Speaking at the gathering, Durumbun Zazzau, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu Bamalli, commended the recommendations made by the residents, describing them as important contributions towards addressing the developmental needs of the area.
He assured participants that the recommendations would be conveyed to Speaker Abbas Tajudeen for consideration and appropriate action.
Also speaking, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority, Aliyu Tajuddeen Abdullah, described the meeting as timely, saying it enabled residents to better understand development initiatives being undertaken by the Speaker for his constituency and the wider community.
He expressed his commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving access to potable water and facilitating the construction of dams to promote irrigation farming.
MD, said such interventions would increase agricultural productivity, create employment opportunities and contribute to the socio-economic development of the people.
He appealed to residents of Kwarbai Ward, Zaria and neighbouring communities to continue supporting Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, in his development efforts and constituency projects, saying sustained support would help ensure continuity of the initiatives and enable him to continue representing the people at the National Assembly.
