A statement issued by the Media Aide to the Vice-Chancellor, Sani Lawal Maqarphy, disclosed that the Governor accepted the invitation during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Faculty to the Government House, Gusau.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty and Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Dr. (Mrs.) Hadiza Abdullahi, who formally presented the invitation and briefed the Governor on the objectives of the conference.
According to the statement, the conference will bring together scholars, researchers, policymakers, development partners and other stakeholders from Nigeria and across the globe to explore innovative approaches to education, digital transformation and sustainable national development.
Governor Lawal expressed gratitude to the Faculty for the honour and described the conference as a timely platform for intellectual engagement and policy dialogue.
He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to promoting quality education, research, innovation and sustainable development as critical drivers of national progress.
The conference, with the theme, "Reimagining Knowledge Systems for Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development in the 21st Century," is scheduled to hold from 4th to 6th August, 2026, at the Federal University of Education, Zaria.
The Faculty expressed appreciation to Governor Lawal for accepting the invitation and expressed confidence that his keynote address will enrich discussions and contribute significantly to the success of the international conference.
