.The Management of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria has dismissed as “false, mischievous, and malicious” a social media publication alleging that Kaduna State Scholarship funds for students of the institution were not paid to beneficiaries.
In an official rejoinder signed by *Abdullahi Ibrahim Shehu*, Deputy Registrar, Information and Protocol, the Polytechnic said the claim was deliberately intended to “tarnish the reputation of the institution and mislead the public.”
According to the statement, Governor Uba Sani, CON, recently approved over one billion naira to the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, KSSLB, for domestic students. The Board screened 1,630 students of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic and released a first tranche of ₦10,000,000 to the institution for onward payment.
The Polytechnic explained that disbursement was done in tranches and that over 80% of students had not yet paid school fees for the 2024/2025 session. As a result, payments could not be made to those students, while refunds have already been issued to more than 170 students who paid their fees before the scholarship window.
“Remita payments through the Treasury Single Account, TSA, were experiencing challenges, but the system now reflects on students’ dashboards. The remaining eligible students will receive their scholarship immediately the Polytechnic receives the second tranche from KSSLB,” the statement read.
The Management urged students, parents, and the public to disregard the misleading publication and avoid spreading unverified information. It also clarified that the document did not originate from students of the Polytechnic but from “mischief makers known to be enemies of the institution.”
The Rector, Engr. Dr. Mohammed Kabir Abdullahi, was recently honored by the National Association of Polytechnic Students, NAPS, as _Distinguished Life Grand Patron_ and the institution was named _Best Institution of the Year 2026_ at the NAPS Leadership Summit in Zaria.
The Management reaffirmed its gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his commitment to education and assured all beneficiaries that “none of them will be denied payment once the next disbursement is received.”
