Victims affected by the demolition of houses at Al-Huda Huda College, Zaria, have received land allocation documents from the Kaduna State Government in a move aimed at providing relief and restoring hope to the affected families.
The distribution ceremony, held at the Al-Huda Huda College Hall in Zaria, was attended by government officials, community leaders, lawmakers, and beneficiaries. The initiative followed the approval of Governor Uba Sani as part of efforts to alleviate the hardships experienced by victims of the demolition.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, Muhammad Lawal Usman Mai Elsa, commended the Member representing Zaria City Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Barrister Mahmud Lawal Isma’ila Bola’ige, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of the people of Zaria.
Mai Elsa said Barrister Mahmud Lawal Isma’ila has consistently demonstrated leadership through interventions in education, healthcare, security, and community development. According to him, the lawmaker has supported educational advancement through scholarships, learning materials, and advocacy for improved educational opportunities for young people.
He added that Barrister Mahmud has also contributed significantly to healthcare delivery by supporting medical outreach programmes and facilitating access to healthcare services for vulnerable members of society. On infrastructure development, he noted that the legislator has championed projects aimed at improving roads, public facilities, and social amenities across communities.
Speaking on security, Mai Elsa stated that Barrister Mahmud has remained at the forefront of efforts to promote peace and security through collaboration with relevant authorities and community stakeholders. He thanked Governor Uba Sani for approving the allocation of plots to the affected families, describing the gesture as evidence of a responsive and compassionate administration.
He urged beneficiaries to continue supporting government policies and programmes designed to improve the living conditions of citizens.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, conveyed the goodwill message of Governor Uba Sani to the beneficiaries and residents of Zaria.
Dr. Bashir Garba disclosed that a total of 92 beneficiaries would receive land allocation documents under the exercise. He said the Governor approved the intervention after carefully considering the challenges faced by the affected families and the need to provide them with a fresh opportunity to rebuild their lives.
He assured beneficiaries that the Kaduna State Government would continue to prioritize policies that promote social justice, fairness, and inclusive development. Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim also prayed for the success and prosperity of the beneficiaries and encouraged them to make good use of the opportunity provided by the government.
Also speaking, the Member representing Zaria Kewaye Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Isah Haruna Babanyaya, described the distribution of land allocation documents as a commendable intervention that reflects the commitment of the Kaduna State Government to the welfare of its citizens.
He praised Governor Uba Sani and Barrister Mahmud Lawal Isma’ila for their efforts in ensuring that the affected families received support. Hon. Babanyaya urged the beneficiaries to remain law-abiding and make productive use of the plots allocated to them.
In his address, the Member representing Zaria City Constituency, Barrister Mahmud Lawal Isma’ila Bola’ige, expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for approving the allocation of land to the victims.
He stated that the exercise was the result of sustained engagement and advocacy aimed at ensuring that those affected by the demolition received relief and support from the government. He noted that the welfare of the people remains his priority and pledged to continue pursuing initiatives that would improve the lives of his constituents.
Barrister Mahmud congratulated the beneficiaries and wished them success as they begin a new chapter in rebuilding their homes and livelihoods. He, however, advised them not to sell the plots allocated to them, stressing that the land was provided to help secure their future and improve the well-being of their families.
He urged them to develop the plots and use them for the purpose for which they were allocated, assuring them of his continued support and representation.
