A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Muttaka Balarabe Yakubu (MBY), has formally declared his intention to contest for the seat of the House of Representatives representing Zaria Federal Constituency in the 2027 General Elections.
MBY made the declaration in a statement addressed to the people of the constituency, where he said his decision was inspired by a strong sense of duty and commitment to serve the people of Zaria.
According to him, Zaria Federal Constituency remains a symbol of knowledge, culture, political strength, and resilience, but lamented that many youths are still unemployed while several communities continue to face economic hardship and lack of development.
He explained that his decision came after extensive consultations with elders, party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women groups, and supporters across the constituency, adding that he was encouraged by the widespread belief that a new direction is needed.
The aspirant stated that his ambition is not driven by personal interest, but by a genuine desire to provide purposeful representation rooted in accountability, accessibility, compassion, and dedication to the people.
“If given the mandate, my focus shall be centered on youth empowerment, educational advancement, economic opportunities, infrastructural development, support for small businesses, and the promotion of peace and unity across the constituency,” he said.
MBY further noted that his connection with the grassroots gives him a clear understanding of the struggles and aspirations of the people, promising to strengthen the relationship between government and the people while ensuring that no community is neglected.
He also described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a platform for justice, democracy, and development, expressing confidence that the party can restore public trust and deliver quality representation to the people of Zaria Federal Constituency.
The aspirant called on party members, supporters, elders, youths, women, and all residents of the constituency to support what he described as a movement for unity, progress, and responsible leadership.
He prayed for peace, unity, and progress for Zaria Federal Constituency, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.
