Speaking at a grand declaration ceremony held in Zaria, the Speaker said his decision to seek another mandate was driven by his commitment to effective representation, continuity in leadership, and sustained development across the constituency.
He stated that since his election into the House of Representatives, he has remained focused on delivering people-oriented representation through impactful legislation, educational support programmes, healthcare interventions, infrastructure development, youth empowerment initiatives, and economic assistance to vulnerable groups.
Abbas Tajuddeen noted that prior to his emergence as Speaker, he sponsored 74 bills, out of which 21 were signed into law.
He added that under the leadership of the current 10th House of Representatives, more than 2,000 bills have been introduced and considered, over 180 bills passed, while more than 50 bills have received presidential assent.
Abbas Tajuddeen also Highlighting some of his constituency achievements, the Speaker listed the distribution of vehicles, tricycles, and motorcycles to constituents, financial grants to small-scale business owners, scholarships for thousands of students, agricultural support for farmers, rehabilitation of schools, establishment of healthcare centres, and execution of various infrastructure projects across communities within the constituency.
He further referenced the establishment of the multi-billion-naira Education City Project in Zaria, estimated at about eighty billion naira, as well as the recently commissioned 100-bed Specialist Hospital aimed at improving access to quality healthcare services for the people.
According to him, Zaria Federal Constituency requires experienced and purposeful leadership capable of sustaining ongoing progress and attracting more democratic dividends to the area.
The Speaker stressed that the constituency could not afford to slow down its pace of development, assuring constituents that if re-elected, greater attention would be given to youth empowerment, support for traders and farmers, improved infrastructure, education, healthcare delivery, and community development programmes.
He therefore appealed to the people of the constituency to support his re-election bid, assuring them of continued responsive leadership, accessibility, and quality representation at the national level.
Abbas Tajuddeen reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to the All Progressives Congress and expressed confidence that greater progress would be achieved for Zaria Federal Constituency, Kaduna State, and the nation at large through collective support and unity.
He also expressed appreciation to Almighty Allah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, traditional rulers, religious leaders, women, youths, and supporters across Zaria and Sabon Gari for their continued support and confidence in his leadership.
