The Federal Fire Service, Zaria Area Command, has successfully contained a fire outbreak that occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 23, 2026, in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The incident, reported at about 4:30 a.m., took place at No. 4 Abdu Na Mairo, behind ABU Quarters, Jushi, within Zaria Local Government Area. Preliminary findings indicate that the fire was caused by an electrical surge.
The fire affected a residential building comprising two apartments with eight bedrooms, owned by Alhaji Mika’ilu Ibrahim Fagachi.
The Service received a distress call from ASF Abubakar Abbas, which prompted the immediate deployment of firefighters led by DSF Abubakar Muhammad.
On arrival, the team conducted a rapid assessment and commenced fire fighting operations using a medium jet of water from Fire Appliance FFS 195.
The swift and coordinated response of the firefighters led to the successful containment and extinguishing of the blaze, preventing it from spreading to adjoining buildings.
