The Provost of Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology, Makarfi, Mahmud Muhammad Shu’aibu, has commended the Kaduna State Government for its continued support to the institution, particularly in the provision of essential infrastructure that has improved the learning environment for students.

The Provost made the commendation on Thursday, during the matriculation ceremony of newly admitted students held at the college’s main campus in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to him, the state government has addressed some of the major challenges previously faced by the college, including the provision of steady water supply and electricity at the students’ hostels, which have significantly enhanced students’ welfare.

He congratulated the newly admitted students and urged them to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to their academic pursuits, reminding them that they are being trained to become future healthcare professionals responsible for safeguarding lives and improving public health across the country.

The ceremony attracted the presence of members of the college management, academic staff, parents, traditional rulers led by the Distric Head of Makarfi, security agency heads, and other stakeholders from the host community.

Also speaking at the event, the Registrar of the College, Muhammad Idris, emphasised the importance of discipline and strict adherence to the institution’s rules and regulations. He noted that obedience to school policies, respect for authority, and good conduct are the foundations of academic success and professional excellence in the health sector.

In their response, the newly matriculated students expressed gratitude to the college management and the Kaduna State Government for the support and facilities provided. They pledged to remain law-abiding, dedicated to their studies, and committed to upholding the ethics and standards of the institution throughout their training.
