Presenting the award, the Chairman of the Kaduna State Councillors Forum, Honourable Hussaini Banzazzau, described Hon. Bashir Mamman Dankoli as a focused, dedicated and humble leader who has demonstrated endurance and commitment to grassroots development. He noted that the Ikara Local Government Chairman has successfully keyed into the leadership style and vision of the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, through people-oriented programmes and projects.
Hon. Banzazzau explained that the award was based on the chairman’s outstanding performance in office, especially his efforts in infrastructural development and social welfare, which have positively impacted the lives of the people across the local government area.
Responding shortly after receiving the award, the Ikara Local Government Chairman, Honourable Bashir Mamman Dankoli, expressed appreciation to the National Councillors Forum for finding him worthy of the honour. He described the award as an encouragement to do more for the people and a motivation to sustain his commitment to good governance.
Hon. Dankoli assured the forum and the people of Ikara Local Government Area of his total loyalty and commitment towards ensuring the success of the second term agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.
The chairman highlighted some of the achievements recorded under his administration, which include the execution of electricity projects, construction of bridges and culverts, recruitment of volunteer teachers with the payment of allowances, medical outreach programmes, and youth empowerment initiatives through sponsorship and skills development.
He called on the people of Ikara Local Government Area to continue supporting all programmes and policies of the Kaduna State Government to enable the administration of Governor Uba Sani achieve its desired goals. Hon. Dankoli also urged councillors to remain in constant touch with their constituents in order to understand and address the needs of the people at the grassroots.
The award ceremony was attended by councillors and stakeholders from across Kaduna State.
