Hon. Ishaq Baba Sale, Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has commended the Chairman of Zaria Local Government Area, Engineer Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (JAGA), for the successful implementation of a financial empowerment programme aimed at improving livelihoods and reducing poverty among residents.
Hon. Ishaq Baba Sale described the initiative as a clear demonstration of responsive and people-oriented leadership, noting that the programme has provided meaningful support to vulnerable groups, small-scale entrepreneurs, women, youths, and persons with disabilities. He said the intervention reflects a strong commitment to grassroots development and economic inclusion.
According to him, the empowerment scheme aligns with the broader objectives of promoting self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth at the local government level. He added that such initiatives are critical in cushioning the effects of economic hardship and ensuring that citizens remain productively engaged.
The senior legislative aide also praised the Kaduna State Government under Governor Uba Sani, as well as the leadership of Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, for creating an enabling environment that encourages development-driven programmes across the state. Hon. Ishaq Baba Sale urged beneficiaries of the financial support to utilize the funds judiciously to expand their businesses, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the socio-economic development of their communities. Also speaking during the outreach programme, Ishaq Baba Sale commended the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, for what he described as exemplary leadership of the 10th National Assembly.
He said under the leadership of Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, the House of Representatives has demonstrated commitment to legislative reforms, inclusiveness and people-oriented governance, adding that the current Assembly has continued to prioritise national unity, accountability and development-focused legislation.
According to Ishaq Baba Sale, the Speaker’s leadership style has strengthened confidence in the legislature, noting that his openness, legislative experience and emphasis on dialogue have helped to reposition the National Assembly as a responsive institution working in the interest of Nigerians.
He further described Speaker Abbas Tajudeen as a bridge-builder whose leadership has promoted cooperation among lawmakers across party lines, stressing that such an approach is critical to addressing the country’s social, economic and security challenges.
