The National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Dist. Comr. Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, GCNS, has commended the Rector of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, Engr. Dr. Muhammad Kabir Abdullahi, for his student-friendly leadership and commitment to improving academic standards and students’ welfare.
Afeez stated this yesterday when he led the national leadership of NANS on a courtesy visit to the Rector and Management Team of the Polytechnic in Zaria.
The NANS president described the Rector’s leadership as focused on creating a conducive academic environment, promoting students’ welfare and supporting initiatives capable of improving the quality of education at the institution.
He particularly commended Dr. Abdullahi for what he described as remarkable achievements recorded by the Polytechnic under his leadership, noting that the institution’s progress reflects the management’s commitment to academic excellence and the development of students.
He also appreciated the Polytechnic for complementing the educational vision of the Kaduna State Government, particularly the education reform agenda of Governor Uba Sani.
The NANS president further praised the management for its adherence to the guidelines of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) in administering student loans, as well as its continued attention to students’ academic and welfare needs.
He stressed the importance of maintaining a strong relationship between students and the institution’s management, saying effective dialogue and cooperation were essential to addressing students’ concerns and sustaining academic stability.
The delegation included the NANS Senate President, Comr. Moses Onyia IBB; North-West Zonal Coordinator, Comr. Umar Suleiman Doko; Chairman, NANS Kaduna Axis/JCC Kaduna Axis, Comr. Bilyaminu Muhammad Thabit; and other members of the National Executive Council.
Responding, the Rector of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Muhammad Kabir Abdullahi, thanked the NANS national leadership for the visit and assured the students’ body of the management’s continued commitment to their academic success and welfare.
He said the Polytechnic would continue to provide an environment that would enable students to acquire quality education, practical skills and the knowledge required to contribute meaningfully to society.
The Rector also emphasised the importance of constructive engagement between the management and students, assuring that the institution would continue to listen to students’ concerns and work with relevant stakeholders towards addressing legitimate challenges.
Dr. Abdullahi said the management remained committed to sustaining the progress recorded by the Polytechnic and implementing initiatives aimed at improving teaching, learning, student welfare and the overall development of the institution.
He appreciated NANS for recognising the efforts of the Polytechnic’s management and expressed readiness to strengthen collaboration with the association for the benefit of the students and the institution.
