Speaking to our correspondent in Zaria and its environs, the listeners expressed concern that the station had remained off-air in some areas for months, depriving communities of reliable information and public enlightenment.
Alhaji Ibrahim Mai Tudu appealed to the management of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, to urgently intervene and restore effective transmission by Radio Nigeria Kaduna.
He said the station plays a significant role in disseminating information and educating the public, particularly in the areas of education, religion, agriculture and entertainment, which he noted promotes unity among the people.
Also speaking by telephone, Alhaji Bello Moriki from Zamfara State appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and Northern federal lawmakers to urgently support efforts to restore Radio Nigeria Kaduna to full operation.
Alhaji Moriki specifically called for the provision of electricity to the station’s relay facility in Jaji, describing it as essential to improving the station’s reach across the central zone.
He urged leaders in the North to, for the sake of Allah, revive and sustain the legacies of the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto, particularly the vision behind Radio Nigeria Kaduna.
The listeners expressed hope that the relevant authorities would respond promptly to their concerns and restore the station’s services to affected communities.
