The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd.).
In a congratulatory message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Kirshi, the Speaker described General Musa’s appointment as timely and a commendable choice for the nation.
Speaker Abbas praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for recognizing the competence and capacity of General Musa, noting that the decision reflects the President’s deep patriotism and commitment to strengthening national security.
He urged the new Defence Minister not to disappoint Nigerians, pointing out that the public has widely welcomed his appointment.

The Speaker also commended the Senate for conducting a thorough screening process and applauded General Musa for demonstrating readiness and capability for the task ahead.
Speaker Abbas encouraged the new minister to deploy his wealth of experience in galvanising resources and personnel to improve the safety and security of lives and property across the country.
He further urged General Musa to promote unity of purpose among the Armed Forces and other security agencies, while maintaining close collaboration with the National Assembly for legislative support, budgetary partnership, and effective oversight.
