The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, has commended the people of Kwarbai for their collective efforts in promoting youth moral upbringing, creating employment opportunities, and advancing the development of the area.
He made the commendation at the annual meeting of the Kwarbai Development Association held in Zaria.
The Emir, represented by the Bajimin Arewan Zazzau, Alhaji Aliyu Sa’idu Zaria, stressed the need for greater unity and cooperation in addressing the growing challenge of moral decadence among young people.
Speaking at the event, the Marafan Malaman Zazzau, Professor Dalhatu Jumare, urged the association to expand its activities to cover the entire Kwarbai community.
He also emphasized the importance of reviving the educational excellence for which Kwarbai has long been known, to enable the area maintain its competitive edge in various fields.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Kwarbai North Development Association, Malam Muhammad Bello Abbas, said the association had for many years been implementing development projects, particularly in the areas of education, youth mentorship, and job creation.
He added that the association used the occasion to honour some distinguished sons and daughters of the area who have made significant contributions to community developmen.
Among the award recipients were Malam Haruna Abbas of the Federal University of Education, Zaria; the Director-General of NARICT, Dr. Kabiru Mu’azu; the Chairman of the Kaduna state Scholarship and loan Board, Malam Muhammad Lawal Mai-Elsa; and the Education Secretary Zaria Local Government, Dr. Hasana.
Others honoured included the Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Yahaya Aminu Pate, and the member representing Zaria City Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Barrister Mahmud Lawal Bola Ige.
In their separate remarks, the award recipients expressed appreciation for the recognition and pledged to continue contributing towards the growth and development of Kwarbai.
The event attracted a large gathering of people, including district heads, university academics, religious leaders, security personnel, and youths from different parts of the community.
